WORKSHOP on Collaborative envisioning of immersive environments for anticipatory technology assessment.
What does responsible technology look like in the Europe of the future? In this hands-on hackathon, participants dive into the Theseus 2050 scenario—a visual storyworld where value-driven technologies and societal change shape new ways of living and deciding together.
The workshop highlights the role of imagination in anticipatory technology assessment. Teams will design immersive future experiences using a combination of physical, digital, and AI-enhanced elements—bringing possible futures to life and sparking new perspectives.

The main theme of the Futures Conference 2025 focused on futures of technologies, their development, importance, role and risks as a driver of social change. The conference was asking the following questions: What are the effects of social and environmental changes on technological development and vice versa; How can organisations and societies proactively manage the dual role of technology both as a solution and a source of new societal dilemmas; how can AI and other technologies contribute in advancing the scientific discipline and innovative approaches to technology within futures studies and foresight; how to perceive and rethink the linkages between novel technologies and policy-making; and how to reconstruct innovation policies in an era of pervasive technological changes.
