Building a Collaborative Circular Textile System

The tExtended project seeks to leverage digital and technological advancements to create a framework that extends the lifecycle of textiles, aiming for greater circularity and sustainability. The workshop given at the ECOSYSTEX Conference 2025 fosters a collaborative approach to building a circular textile system, with a particular emphasis on systemic understanding and innovative solutions for textile waste management. The workshop explores topics related to product lifetime, such as consumer behavior, design considerations, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes, before moving on to themes of textile recovery and recycling, including logistics. Finally, the discussion broadens to encompass the entire ecosystem, focusing on the concept of textile hubs for circularity.
