Abstract: Carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) has recently received a lot of attention as a potential option to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Combining CCU with Power-to-X (PtX) can create value chain that is able to simultaneously reduce CO2 emissions while storing energy from renewable energy sources. This thesis reviews the transportation logistics of the value chain with aim to find the most economically optimal transportation solution for different compounds and scenarios. The transportation of the compounds is reviewed in gas, supercritical, and liquid phase in road, rail, ship, and pipeline transportation. To achieve comprehensive cost results, multiple transported capacities and distances was used. In addition to estimating cost ranges for all transportation options, three different cases were studied to consider the effect of different process locations and production capacities. The pipeline transportation was considered to be the most economical option for most of the scenarios. Additionally, it was found that for smaller capacities, the road and rail transportation is more economical option due to the high initial investment costs of pipeline transportation.
