Bioanalytics facilities

Facility/equipment: Facility

Overview

Description

Our bioanalytics lab comprises state-of-the-art equipment for the analysis of small and large molecules with LC-MS (Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry) and more. We combine these facilities with extensive knowledge about lipidomics and proteomics and have several proved platforms ready for small molecule, protein and glycan analysis. We also develop new analysis method for specific analytes and matrices.

Analytical services for small molecules:
• Reverse Phase (UPLC)-UV-MS for majority of small molecules. UV and/or mass detection can be chosen based on need for selectivity and sensitivity.
• HILIC (UPLC)-UV-MS method for determination of polar compounds.
• Amino acid composition analysis
• Quantitative analysis of lipid classes, molecular lipids and fatty acids
• Small molecules, GC-MS

Analytical services for large biomolecules:
• Intact mass (LC-MS) to measure the molecular mass of proteins in sample
• Peptide mapping (LC-MS) to confirm the sequence of proteins and to study modifications and their locations
• Released glycan analysis (LC-MS) to determine the identity of glycans (sugars) attached to protein
• Quantitative analysis of target proteins in within the provided biological matrix (LC-MS), e.g. plasma, blood or tissue

Available Instrumentation:
• Waters Synapt G2-Si IMS QTOF mass spectrometer with Acquity UPLC front-end
• Waters Xevo TQ-S triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with Acquity UPLC front-end
