A research scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in the Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics group, working on challenges for better and safer carbon neutral solutions. My work has centered around materials testing and characterization of metals and alloys under a wide range of conditions relevant to engineering and industrial applications. I aspire to drive innovation through advanced materials testing by leveraging cutting-edge imaging and analysis techniques to optimize materials, components and processes.
A key aspect of my research has involved combining traditional testing methods with full-field displacement and temperature measurements to gain insights of material behavior under extreme conditions, such as elevated temperatures and rapid deformation. This approach is versatile and has also been successfully utilized to investigate systems at different length scales. I strive to reveal valuable data which would otherwise be unavailable through conventional methods, and focus on improving our understanding and allowing for more accurate modeling of materials and components.
Combined with my expertise in materials science, I also have a great interest in additive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and the development of simple but effective solutions. What initially began as a hobby has now translated into a valuable asset at work, allowing me to efficiently solve issues and provide assistance to colleagues. Moving forward, I aspire to combine my skills and expertise to explore innovative engineering approaches and investigate the role additively manufactured parts will play in the future.
In an era characterized by a growing demand for machine learning approaches and quickly evolving products, it has become imperative for businesses to proficiently collect and analyze extensive amounts of data. Such capabilities are essential to achieve improved material modeling, enhanced simulation capabilities, and the development of high-performance engineering solutions. Ultimately, my goal would be to use my expertise and experience to optimize product performance, improve durability, and enhance overall efficiency. If you find this prospect intriguing and would like to explore how my expertise can benefit your organization.
