Research interests

Maria's research revolves around urban water and various water management topics including (but not limited to) stormwater management and urban flooding, the role of nature-based solutions in climate adaptation and policy implications, water legislation, green-grey infrastructure integration, and surface/subsurface flow modelling. In her work, Maria is particularly interested in strengthening the science-policy interface for building resilience and address climate adaptation.
