Matti Virkkunen (M. Sc. Agr&For) works as Senior Scientist in the  Renewable Energy Processes team with 15 years of working experience on research in the field of bioenergy with a focus on forest and agro biomass supply technology, quality management, business development and techno-economy analyses. His expertise covers forestry, biomass harvesting and transport technology, biomass fuel quality management and related business models of biomass fuel supply systems. Mr. Virkkunen is experienced both in national and international projects and he has wide international and national contact network. Virkkunen’s previous and current projects include biomass supply availability and procurement cost analyses for heat and power in Chile, India, Canada, Central and Eastern Europe and in Scandinavia and feedstock supply analyses for biorefineries and located in Finland and Canada.

 

Matti Virkkunen holds an IPMA-C project manager certificate.
