Short bio
Nina Wessberg (Dr., Associate Professor) has 25 years of experience in research work in foresight, socio-technical change, risk management, sustainable development as well as responsibility and ethics of technological systems at VTT. Wessberg has led numerous projects involving stakeholder cooperation in creating roadmaps and scenarios to create sustainability strategies and future shape. She has developed horizon scanning methods to tackle weak signals in innovation and emerging technology developments. Her research methods include extensive collaboration with stakeholders through interviews and workshops by collecting and analysing mainly qualitative research data. Wessberg´s educational background holds a doctoral degree in environmental policy. She is an associate professor at the University of Tampere Environmental Policy Socio-technical change. She has also a master degree in environmental technology. Wessberg is also a certified IPMA C level project manager.
