Short bio
I studied mathematics and computer science, and throughout my career as an expert in bioinformatics and computational biology, I have developed a strong background in data science and machine learning. I have applied my research expertise to biomedical sciences and industrial biotechnology. I have published scientific articles in international journals, secured research grants, given talks at international conferences, delivered guest lectures for courses at Aalto University, and supervised junior researchers.
I study biological systems using machine learning and bioinformatics. My work involves analyzing of data originating from various technologies including next generation sequencing (NGS), imaging, biological networks, Raman spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. I also focus on data mining for enzyme discovery and identifying potential antibiotic resistance, virulence factors, and allergens. Ultimately, I aim to uncover key biological features that underlie specific phenotypes.
