Short bio

Dr. Pekka Tuominen is a Senior Scientist specialized in energy and economics with a Smart City focus. His past work includes e.g. studying the economic effects of various smart city investements around the world and the assessing the effectiveness of different energy efficiency policies. He has been the main developer of software tools for forecasting the development of energy consumption in the building stock. Also he has conducted analyses on the effects of energy-related investments in cities on employment, CO2 emissions and other external effects in the economy. He is also the operating agent of the IEA EBC Annex 83 on Positive Energy Districts.
