Project Details
Description
This project focuses on screening and developing efficient capture technologies and advancing CO2 economy. We study technologies to capture carbon from various sources to produce high-purity CO2, which can offer flexibility for PtX and provide synergies especially with waste heat utilization.
This project has three working packages:
1) P2X integrated direct CO2 capture from air focuses to improve energy efficiency and green CO2 availability in P2X via CO2 capture from air (direct air capture, DAC);
2) Large-scale point source carbon capture for industrial P2X concepts focuses on identifying and developing high-performing and energy-efficient carbon capture technologies for large-scale industrial emission points sources;
3) CO2 economy aims to develop a better understanding about future CO2 economy on a system level, having a goal is to estimate realistic potential of CO2 and its derivatives for P2X, to evaluate the best combinations of capture technologies and CO2 sources, and the wider impact of the choices in the value chain.
