Project Details
Description
Finnish production is well networked and focused on small series. In addition to Finland, the companies' networks extend to global value chains and networks. These are vulnerable to both internal and external trends and events. Disruptions in the network and material delivery difficulties cause a lot of problems, and information about changes comes late. Resilience refers to the ability of a value network to prepare for, react on and recover from internal and external unexpected changes and development trends. The ResilReagNets project explores how resilience can be improved by improving the transfer of data and open data sharing between companies in the value network. We claim that the situation would improve considerably if information about various changes were transmitted online more quickly. In practice, however, there are many obstacles to open data sharing.
New technologies such as cheap sensors, loT, cloud services and AI enable faster and more comprehensive data collection, sharing and analysis both within and between companies. In the ResilReagNets project, we want to show that this technology enables a new kind of data sharing between companies and that this benefits all parties in the value network.
The aim of this project is to use research to create a basis for how various tools based on simulation and modelling methods and Al-based data analysis can and should be used to develop the resilience, responsiveness, efficiency and security of supply of production networks. The aim is to create methods and operating methods, create demonstration models of tools and test their functionality in industrial use cases. Another goal is to create a comprehensive model of how hybrid simulation can be utilised by combining different analysis tools to develop production networks.
