Project Details
Description
The main aim of RESPED is to help cities in their transition towards a more sustainable economy and functioning by studying how the positive energy districts (PEDs) can drive this development, especially through improved resilience and increased affordability. This will be achieved through a better understanding of the different dimensions of resilience to which PEDs can contribute. In a participatory process involving three urban living labs (ULL) in Finland, the Czech Republic and Austria, a systems based approach will help to understand the ecosystems and drivers ULLs are embedded in and the interdependencies between actors. This will help to improve decision-making at the mesoscale of the neighbourhood and city, while zooming into the microscale behaviour level of districts, aiming to make citizens drivers for change. A city learning community will enable cross country learning and replicability of innovative concepts and technologies.
