Project Details
Description
The aim of the FASTEST project is to build a flexible platform for hybrid testing, able to adapt to different battery chemistries, geometries, materials and sectoral use cases. The project will advance from TRL3-4 (experimental proof of concept) to TRL6 (technology demonstrated in a relevant environment). This will be done by developing the hybrid testing platform and its components around 3b Li-rich NMC/Si-C battery cell chemistry first. Then, after optimisation and fine tuning for the three sectoral use cases, the platform work will be further validated for 4th generation solid state batteries using solid state electrolyte. This will ensure that, by the time of market uptake in the years following the end of the project, the platform will be fine-tuned for the cell chemistries available and dominant in the market (gen. 3b) and ready to include the next-generation batteries (gen. 4).
