Project Details
Description
VTT's ECO-Fusion research project solves critical issues identified with companies, enabling companies effectively and efficiently develop competitive solutions for the international market. The need-based research topics are: (i) fusion power plant lifetime and maintenance; (ii) advanced materials; (iii) fusion power plant analysis; (iv) advanced computing; (v) licensing, safety and nuclear waste management; as well as (vi) industry activation and ecosystem business.
Parts of the research plan are aligned to EUROfusion work program. Selected tasks, which support activities in the business projects, are executed according to specific EUROfusion Task Agreements and with significant funding share from EUROfusion. This link to the very core of the European fusion program supports the activities in company projects in long term. By linking it tightly to EUROfusion, the project can benefit from EU funding and the high level of research quality by the EU quality standards.
VTT will also act as the co-ordinator of the project.
