Description
Ensuring reliable, renewable, affordable and safe electrical energy supply
The reliability of power grids is essential for uninterrupted electricity supply. Converter technology generates transient processes and high-frequency components that negatively impact grid equipment. To address this, the insulating capacity of devices and components must be traceably tested.
Project will focus on traceable measurement and characterisation of testing equipment for electrical insulation components and develops techniques, reference standards and calibration capabilities for
advanced transient high voltage and high current testing.
VTT MIKES constructs voltage generation and measurement systems needed in fast voltage transients and puncture testing and develops traceable calibration facilities for impulse current testing.
Call 2024: Metrology Support for Green deal
The project (24GRD05) has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and by the Participating States.
