Metrology for the electrical power industry

Project: EU project

Project Details

Description

Test methods for high voltage to increase the efficiency of electricity grids.

New products operating at higher grid voltages and with lower losses are needed to meet the efficiency requirements of electricity grids. Traceable measurements are vital to prove the quality of the products.

Project establishes traceability for testing at high voltages and fast impulses and for quantification of losses in key grid components.

VTT MIKES will develop metrology for UHV dielectric testing, traceability for fast transient measure-ments and services needed to prove losses.
