Modelling as a tool to augment ground motion data in regions of diffuse seismicity

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Within this project we developed earthquake source modeling using state of the art and self-developed software in order to better understand the ground vibrations in the areas close to the earthquake epicenters. The results enable improved consideration of earthquake hazard, in particular the effect of near-field earthquakes, thereby making nuclear facilities and hazardous industrial buildings (and other structures) safer.
