Quantum traceability for AC power standards

Project: EU project

Project Details

Description

A practical quantum standard for electrical power providing direct traceability to the new quantum SI.

The traceability of primary electrical power calibration to the volt and the ampere is typically through complicated calibration of thermal voltage converters, current shunts and digitizers. A more direct link of electrical power and power quality to the new quantum SI would improve uncertainties and decrease costs.

Project develops a quantum sampling standard for electrical power, which is open to metrology community and provides direct traceability to the new quantum SI.

VTT MIKES will adapt its Programmable Josephson Voltage Standard (PJVS) for power measurement.
