Project Details
Description
Co-creation of value network for production of protein feeds.
Layman's description
Fish production requires ~200 Mt feed globally. More than half of the fish eaten today is grown in fish farms. This requires immense amounts of food for the fish. This project produced a value network for developing new methods for feeding the fish in the future.
Key findings
New methods have the potential to feed the fish. Fish feeding can be more sustainable than conventional methods and there is a need for new novel methods for the production of feeds. A new value network has been formed for future technologies. New technologies need substantial investments, but they have the potential to fill the gap for fish food in order to provide sustainable and high-quality fish for the future.
