Thermometry with embedded SI traceability for industrial applications

    Project: EU project

    Project Details

    Description

    Reliable thermometry for process control

Most industrial processes rely on temperature measurement, which directly influences product quality, energy efficiency and emissions. However, all conventional temperature sensors exhibit calibration drift leading to process control problems, sub-optimal emissions and reduced efficiency.

Project implements embedded traceable thermometry in-situ through driftless practical primary thermometry & self-validation, gas/combustion thermometry, and new techniques to enable traceable 2D surface temperature measurement to solve process control challenges.

VTT MIKES concentrates to develop an AI-assisted low-cost insert for dry-block calibrators. This instrument aims to act as a comparator, linking phosphor thermometry with thermal imaging techniques.
