Description
Metrology to ensure the reliability of virtual experiments and digital twins.
The use of virtual experiments (VEs) and digital twins (DTs) in metrological applications requires reliable validation procedures as well as uncertainty evaluation methods to make them fit, e.g., as substitutes or extensions to certified measurement devices.
Project develops methods and procedures, which enable ensuring the reliability and trustworthiness of VEs and DTs in metrology necessary to support the digital transformation.
VTT MIKES implements a digital twin (software) for an optical measurement system (developed by VTT) integrated on an articulated-arm robot for dimensional measurements. The system has two cameras & one structured light projector for the scanning of parts in real time.
Call 2022: Metrology Support for Digital Transformation
The project (22DIT01 ViDiT) has received funding from the European Partnership on Metrology, co-financed from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme and by the Participating States.
