Unleashing the Potential of Hybrid Energy Storage Systems in Green Energy Empowerment

Project: Business Finland project

Project Details

Description

The "UltraGreen" project is dedicated to developing an advanced Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) through the integration of supercapacitors (SCs) and lithium-ion batteries (LiBs). The main goal of this project is to overcome technical barriers hindering Finland's journey toward carbon neutrality, particularly in light of the growing presence of renewable energy sources (RESs) and the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) with unpredictable charging patterns. By harnessing the complementary characteristics of SCs and LiBs, UltraGreen aims to strengthen energy storage capabilities, enhance high-energy and high-power delivery, and optimize system efficiency within power grid applications.
