Abstract
The papers of the 10th International Symposium on
Corrosion in the Pulp and Paper Industry (10th ISCPPI),
August 21-24, 2001, at the Marina Congress Center in
Helsinki, Finland, are published in two volumes.
The aim of the Symposium has been to provide a forum for
representatives of the industry, research institutes,
universities and suppliers to review, to report progress
in, and to discuss the present state of knowledge of
corrosion and its control in the pulp and paper industry.
Of the 45 full papers and 3 abstracts, about one half are
related to corrosion and corrosion control in recovery
boilers, digesters or evaporators. Other areas covered by
the papers include, e.g., bleaching, paper machines,
risk-based inspection, black liquor gasifiers,
fluidized-bed boilers, monitoring, testing, and corrosion
protection by thermal spraying, overlay welding or by use
of non-metallic materials or coatings.
