    Abstract

Automated Vehicles (AVs) support multiple functions such as steering without drivers. In order to realize the key functions, connectivity solution as an essential part of AVs will enhance the performance and achieve fully automated vehicles. The connectivity solution covers vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P). It will provide us with many benefits such as crash-free driving, travel time reduction, fuel saving, and so on. In this presentation, we introduce V2X standard activities including 3GPP V2X communications and DSRC, Key research challenges including KPIs, requirements and key enabling technologies, Research trends of ICT industry and Car OEMs, and VTT 5G test networks and automated vehicles.
