Abstract
The NORDTRIB series of symposia on tribology started in
Tampere, Finland in 1984 and has evolved into an
internationally acknowledged and highly appreciated event
in the international tribology community. The NORDTRIB
symposium is arranged every second year and the site for
the symposium is circulating among the Nordic countries.
NORDTRIB is intended as a forum where researchers and
industrialists can present their latest achievements, and
discuss and solve problems related to friction, wear and
lubrication. The applications focus on the development of
industrial products and the improvement of industrial
processes.
The NORDTRIB 2000 was arranged in Porvoo, Finland in June
2000. The organisers were pleased to receive a great
number of offers to contributions. The programme
consisted of altogether 110 papers of which 4 were
presented as plenary papers, 74 as oral presentations and
32 in the poster sessions.
