Research output: Book/ReportReport

Abstract

The application of computer aided design to textiles and clothing is in a state of fast development. A fabric design system has been developed for the use of non-expensive computer equipment for the design of small size dobby weaves in colors. The user-friendly and easy to learn design procedure is reported and evaluated. Certain comments on general application, extension toward computer aided manufacturing, and integration with management control systems are included. The color-CAD procedure is found to be an excellent tool for the creative and imaginative textile designer and indeed also for the student in textiles.
