Abstract

A new method is presented for designing polyphase N**t**h-band IIR filters with linear phase approximation. The proposed method is suboptimal in the sense that the all-pass branch filters of the polyphase structure are designed individually. Although only half-band filters exhibits equiripple error function, examples show that the solution is nearly equiripple for N**t**h-band filters.
