The results of a run-in test series on a fire sensitivity
test room according to the European Standard proposal
prEN-54-9 are reported. The construction and the
properties of the test room, in addition to the measuring
instruments and principles are briefly described. All the
test fires could be carried out to the prEN 54-9
specifications, although some difficulties with the
smouldering fires were observed. The difficulties are
mainly due to insufficient definitions in the standard
proposal.
