Abstract
This paper presents a framework for including cognitive
management functionalities in the spectrum selection
process for Opportunistic Networks (ONs).The framework is
based on a decision making functionality interacting with
a knowledge management block that stores and processes
information about the spectrum use. Different approaches
for spectrum selection
are discussed covering specific cases including the
capability to aggregate different bands and the
possibility to jointly select the spectrum and the
network interface. Illustrative results of the proposed
framework are presented.
