Abstract
A measurement campaign at the Brookhaven Medical
Research Reactor (BMRR) epithermal Boron Neutron Capture
Therapy (BNCT) facility was carried out by the Finnish
BNCT team in October 1998. The neutron and gamma fields
were measured using several methods both in air and in
phantoms. Transport calculations were performed with the
DORT and MCNP codes. The free-beam neutron spectrum was
adjusted based on multiple-foil activation measurements.
The results are presented and compared to corresponding
characteristics of the Finnish BNCT facility at the FiR 1
reactor in Espoo, Otaniemi.
