Abstract
The amount of mobile services in terms of smartphone
applications and mobile Internet pages continues to grow.
To use them, one needs to find a suitable service for
current task and select (start) the service. The current
user interface solution for accessing services is based
on a graphical menu, which cannot create good user
experience if the amount of services being viewed is
high. Since the need for services varies between user,
usage situation and time, adaptation and personalization
are expected to give some relief. We approach the problem
from user experience point of view, and describe our
current prototype for adaptive service selection, the
Adamos Menu, which is capable for adapting service
shortcuts based on location. We conducted a field test
with 14 users, where users showed positive interest to
adaptation and gave valuable information for
improvements.
