    Abstract

Description of A2E2 initial technology platform. The system will be used to support older adults to be physically more active. Focus will be on people who have sedentary or inactive life-style, or have or are at risk for having diabetes type II or cardiovascular disease. The project will combine novel user-computer interaction concepts (touch screen, intelligent virtual agent and avatar), different personalized sensors enrich the interaction (activity monitoring and vital sign measuring), and interoperability and expandable infrastructure according to guidelines provided by Continua Health Alliance. The project will determine user requirements for "fun to use" application to enable physically more active life-style, realize the solution supported by different technologies, and finally piloting and evaluation of the A2E2 system by real users in real operating environment
