Abstract

Multivariable AR modelling was applied to the fault detection and diagnosis of a paper making process. The theory of analysis method is presented together with an analysis procedure on the basis of multivariable autoregressive modelling techniques. Two high speed newsprint machines were analyzed; the interrelationships between the measured process variables were examined and some conclusions were drawn on how to improve operation stability or how to redesign approach piping.
