Abstract

The Auger electron spectra of Ne following the 1s→3p, 4p and 5p excitations have been measured with high resolution. For the 1s-13p resonant Auger spectrum, the relative intensities of the transitions into the partially resolved 2p43p final states have been extracted from the experiment. They compare favourably with the results of multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock calculations. The calculation for the 1s-14p resonant Auger spectrum, even though not completely successful, also indicates agreement with the measurement. Shake probabilities have been determined from the three experimental spectra.
