    Abstract

The analysis of avilability performance model to describe the probability of a system or an item of equipment's ability to perform a required function under specified conditions at a given instant of time was presented. The model was designed considering the logical struture of the system and the storage capacity between process stages. The models discussed the bottllenecks in production and the equipment items causing most downtime to be identified and applicable to evaluate alternative improvenmt strategies.
