Abstract
This book deals with Biocides in papermaking chemistry. 13 most important (most widely used) biocide chemicals were selected and first the work includes a detailed description of their chemical and physical properties. After this a general overview of the methods suitable for the analysis of biocides is discussed. In this Thesis 28 additional priority biocides and their aquatic environmental risk assessment were also collected in a table. An interesting and compact description of environmental effects of biocides, including a brief summary of the so called green biocides is also presented, which will be important in future papermaking processes.
