Abstract

The proceedings of the seventh Finnish-Soviet seminar on "Bioconversion of plant raw materials" are presented as seventeen papers. These papers concern technological, biochemical and microbiological aspects of the bioconversion of lignocellulosic materials. The properties of the microbes and enzymes involved are described. Enzymatic pretreatments for food and feed materials are introduced. Biotechnical applications for the pulp and paper industry are presented. Techniques in mushroom cultivation are reported.
