Abstract
Buried glass waveguides by molten salt and silver film
ion exchange have been fabricated and their birefringence
has been measured by two separate techniques. The
measured birefringence is very low with a broad range of
waveguide widths and no significant difference in
birefringence due to the fabrication technique was
observed.
