Abstract
The research project EURIDICE (European Inter-Disciplinary Research On Intelligent Cargo For Efficient, Safe And Environment-Friendly Logistics) focuses on the development of intelligent solutions for the transport sector. The basic concept of EURIDICE is an information services platform centred on the individual cargo item, and on its interaction with the surrounding environment and the user. This paper continues the research presented in the ISL2009 with an analysis of the Intelligent Cargo (IC) concept and how the concept might be implemented in intermodal transport chains.
