    Abstract

The results from the coating trials show that after calendering, the starch pigment is as good as the reference carbonate and clay pigments in brightness, opacity, gloss and roughness. Mixtures AP-Clay and AP-GCC-Clay give even better opacity and gloss than any of these pigments alone.
