    Abstract

Wind turbine dynamics are usually studied with a fairly simple model of the power system - and vice versa, aerodynamic properties of the wind turbine itself are fairly simple or non-existent in network studies. This paper describes how three commercial programs are used together for continuous and simultaneous simulation and introduces measurements done in Olos wind farm. Also two simulation examples are introduced. A multi-body dynamics code ADAMS is used for modeling the turbine dynamics, the electrical components of the turbine is modeled in PSCAD/EMTDC and Matlab/Simulink is used to combine the simulations.
