Abstract
Blood transfusions are frequently needed when a patient
needs a critical surgical operation in hospital. Blood
grouping, antibody detection and compatibility testing
must be made beforehand also when interventions are not
supposed to be critical. These tests are needed to be
sure that there will be enough readily available blood
products for the patient in case of emergency during the
intervention.
