Abstract

In timber structures creep is most prominent in the deflection of beams. Simplified methods are used to calculate the long-term deflection based on the modulus of elasticity E and modified for the type of loading. Numerical values of the correction factors in different countries are given in the appendix. Simplified 'pseudoelastic' design methods are under development for the design of wood and panel structures.
