Abstract

This paper introduces the cross-sectoral hydrogen valley concept developed for Hirtshals port area in Denmark within EU project CONVEY. The energy system will utilize renewable energy from local wind turbines to produce hydrogen and to decarbonize the operations of the port. The project includes the construction of an electrolyzer, a large-scale refueling station for heavy-duty transport, and distribution networks for hydrogen, oxygen, heat and electricity. By focusing on the principles of circularity and sector integration, the project will ensure that all elements of the process are utilized efficiently and sustainably.
