Abstract

The paper describes a data model for intensive care which embraces clinical data, operational management and strategic information about care evaluation, cost-effectiveness and planning. The model has been developed to specify database requirements for a new generation of ICU computer system as part of the AIM INFORM project. It may also contribute to the development of a common medical record structure for intensive care.
