Abstract

In this paper we are presenting an on-line quality observer for TMP mechanical pulping operators. On-line quality observation is based on two different SPC (statistical process control) procedures and their combination. Quality observer calculates the degree of quality and if the warning limit is exceeded a trend display is invoked. The trend display is an important tool that can help an operator to make a better judgment how to control the process.
