Abstract
Nine key European ITS services are described in the
report: strategic traffic
management for corridors and networks, incident
management, traffic management of
sensitive road segments, real-time event information and
warning services, traffic
conditions information services, travel time information
services, weather information
services, speed limit information services and co-modal
traveller information services.
The description of each service contains a general
overview and specification of the
organisation of service provision, data sources,
information content and key
requirements for the service in question. The data types
required by key European ITS
services are listed in the report. The data quality of
the key European ITS services is
also reviewed briefly in the deliverable. The European
service cases to be evaluated in QUANTIS are described in
the deliverable. These service cases are the information
services of the Bavarian Traffic
Information Agency, road weather information related
services in Finland, RDS - TMC
Plus service in Austria, and dynamic journey time
information and event management
in the UK. The report provides a brief overview on the
concept of data quality and its
management in the context of ITS services as well as a
review of existing guidelines
for data quality related to various ITS services.
Finally, conclusions about the status of treating data
and service quality in ITS services and their provision
are given. More information about the progress and
results of the QUANTIS project can be found at the
QUANTIS web site http://www.quantis-project.eu
