Abstract

This paper demonstrates how the reflection error of a radiation pattern can be reduced by means of an optimised spherical wave expansion (SWE). Disturbed and undisturbed radiation patterns are measured with and without an aluminum mast near the measured antenna. The SWEs are calculated from each measurement with the optimal truncation indices determined by a method previously introduced by this author. The differences between the disturbed and undisturbed radiation patterns are calculated for measured and corresponding SWE values. The agreement of the SWE fields is better than that of the measured ones.
