Abstract
A design environment for complex multitechnology systems is presented. This design environment supports hierarchical, multilevel, and mixed-mode simulation. The design environment is based on commercial computer-aided-engineering tools including a graphical user interface and an advanced analog simulator. The kernel of the environment is a high-level, C-like hardware description language and an interactive postprocessor tool for the simulator. Linear and nonlinear systems can be modeled in the time and frequency domains. A simulation example of a multitechnology system, including electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical components, is introduced.
